Research Interests:
Cinematography, Graphic Design, Design and development of Corporate identity (Branding), Creative Media and Audiovisual Practices, Digital Image Processing, 3D Image Processing, Video Processing, Development of Supporting Tools for Use in Education, Interactive Design, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Design and Development Education.
Apostolos Kordas is a graphic designer, photographer, and researcher whose work focuses on cinematography, graphic design, and digital image processing. His professional and research activity includes print design, editing and publishing exhibition catalogues, as well as the editing and publication of periodicals.
He holds a degree in Graphic Arts from the Department of Graphic Design and Visual Communication at the University of West Attica, as well as an MSc in Graphic Arts and Interactive Multimedia from the Hellenic Open University. His master’s thesis was titled: “Unbuilt Project – Narratives of the City: Infrastructure for the Broader Symbolic Space that Complements the Meaning of Public Space and Signifies the Concept of the Unbuilt as a Socially Active Process.”
He completed his PhD at the Department of Graphic Design and Visual Communication of the University of West Attica with the dissertation titled: “Environments, Cinematic Landscapes, Graphic Design Creations and Innovations: Narratives, Intersections and Communicative Events in the Body of the City.”
He has taught digital image processing, typography, and interactive multimedia at the Department of Graphic Design and Visual Communication of the University of West Attica. He currently teaches at the Department of Culture, Creative Media and Industries, focusing on Fundamentals of Cinematography and Corporate Identity Design.
For more than thirty years, he has been actively engaged in the fields of education, research projects, visual communication, typography, design, creative media, cinematography, and audiovisual practices.
