Transmedia Art – Audiovisual Media
Kostas Tzimoulis is a visual artist whose work explores a range of media, including sculpture, video, photography, performance, and publications. His artistic practice focuses on the boundaries between private and public space, the domestic and the urban, the interior and the exterior. He is particularly interested in liminal and hybrid conditions, often engaging with locations or contexts situated between opposing states or categories.
Tzimoulis received his undergraduate education at the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA), specializing in sculpture under Professor Giorgos Lappas. He completed postgraduate studies at Westminster University in London and at the Dutch Art Institute in Arnhem, Netherlands.
He has presented six solo exhibitions in Athens, Thessaloniki, Belgrade, and Sarajevo. Together with Vasilis Noula, he co-develops the collaborative visual arts project VASKOS, which investigates artistic, national, and erotic identity through a playful and exploratory approach.
Tzimoulis is a member of the performance group Nova Melancholia, where he contributes as a scenographer and performer. He was involved in the occupation of the Green Park venue and co-organized the DIY Performance Biennial “No Future.” He is also part of the creative team behind OCHTO – a space dedicated to artistic research and practice.
