Anastasia Douka is a visual artist working with sculptural media. Her work questions the interplay of materiality in the everyday and the imaginary, addressing issues of represen-tation in public space and time as well as the role of the artist. She is a graduate of the MFA program, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA as a New Artist Society Trus-tees’ Merit Scholar, with study scholarships by the Onassis Foundation and the Michelis Foundation. She also holds an MA degree in Digital Arts from the Athens School of Fine Arts. She completed her undergraduate studies in Sculpture and Visual Arts in the Ath-ens School of Fine Arts and the Akademie Der Bildenden Künste Wien. She has been a resident artist with Fondation d’Entreprise Hermès (Paris), Skowhegan School of Paint-ing and Sculpture (Νew York), Yaddo Colony (New York) and Salzburg Summer Interna-tional Academy of Fine Arts. Her work is awarded with the DESTE Prize (2011), Toby De-van Lewis Fellowship (2013) and Artworks Fellowship SNF (2019). Exhibitions and col-laborations include: EMST National Museum of Contemporary Art, 2023 Elefsis Europe-an Capital of Culture, Nova Melancholia, ΝΕΟΝ organization, DESTE Foundation, 3 137 artist run space, Benaki Museum, Alserkal Foundation (Dubai), Le Forum (Tokyo), Palais de Tokyo, Werft 5 (Cologne) and Athens Biennale. Her works belong in private collec-tions as well as the collection of the National Museum of Contemporary Art.
