with Katia Papaspiliopoulos on:
“The Role of Educational Activities in Cultural Spaces”
Katia Papaspiliopoulos is responsible for Educational Programs at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall, as well as at the Athens International Film Festival for Children and Adolescents. In this lecture, she observes how cultural venues have been planning more and more educational activities in recent years: programs, seminars, workshops. In this lecture, she explores the role of these activities, the role of cultural venues, how they achieve their goals, and the challenges they are facing, how these activities should be designed and implemented in order to achieve their goals, and invites us to an open discussion on the strategies and conditions of educational programs based on her many years of experience in this field.
Katia Papaspiliopoulos
She studied Philosophy at the Sorbonne University in Paris and Cultural Management in her Masters degree. With a French mother and Greek father, she has lived in both France and Greece and has spent her entire life moving between the two countries, two languages, and two cultures. She worked at the Parc et Grande Halle de la Villette cultural park in Paris and at the B. & M. Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts and Music in Athens as Head of Educational Programs. In recent years, she has been working with various organizations, planning, designing, coordinating, and implementing educational activities and cultural events. Among others, she has collaborated with the Visitors Center of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center – Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Parnassos Literary Society, the Agoni Grammi Gonimi, and the Piraeus Bank Cultural Foundation. In this context, she has been the Director of Educational Programs at the Athens International Film Festival for Children and Adolescents since its first edition in 2018 and is the Head of Educational Programs at the Athens Concert Hall.
