Art Education
The Department of Culture and Creative Media and Industries offers a series of studio classes that focus on arts in the context of education. Courses focus on the relationship between art and different systems of knowledge as well as institutions. They explore the field of education with a special attention to how formal and non-formal pedagogical art practices become intertwined and positioned vis-à-vis the public sphere. Students are invited to explore the concept of creativity and its various aspects from an interdisciplinary, pluralistic perspective and to investigate the ways in which creativity can be employed in applied educational projects. Students design educational programs (in the context of primary and secondary education and in other educational structures) while considering the principles of inclusion, empowerment and an egalitarian access to culture and learning.
