The Department of Culture and Creative Media and Industries in collaboration with the Department of Planning and Regional Development and the Department of Economics of the University of Thessaly offer the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program (PP) \u201cTourism and Cultural Planning and Development\u201d (TCPD) which functions since the academic year 2023-2024.<\/p>\n

The Postgraduate Program in a nutshell<\/h4>\n

Tourism and culture are two main dimensions of leisure time. The program has a spatial \u2013 economic approach, where the role of tourism (especially for Mediterranean countries) is considered as a driving force for economic and spatial development as well as a means of highlighting local resources, the most important of which is culture, considering the changes of consumer (tourist) preferences. The focus is on issues related to the planning and the development of tourism and culture, such as economics, policy, management and marketing, and attention is paid to the special and alternative forms of tourism, perhaps the most dynamic part of global tourism.<\/p>\n
