Research interests: Digital Humanities, cultural and historical information visualization, databases for cultural data, digital narrative, digital exhibits and archives.

Ioulia Pentazou is a historian specialized in digital interactive and information design and museum curator.

She studied history in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and holds a M.A. in Modern Greek History (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), and a Ph.D in Digital Design (Department of Architecture, University of Thessaly).  She was responsible for the content analysis, information design, and interactive scenarios of many historical and cultural and websites, and curator in permanent and temporary exhibitions in Volos museums. Her more recent projects in Digital Humanites are: Kapodistrias Digital Archive and 1821 Digital Archive. She is author of the book Exhibiting History/ Practices of digital design (Istoria se ekthesi/praktikes psifiakou sxediasmou), Hellenic Open University Editions, Athens 2019.
